Humans of BluePath: Service Dog Trainer and Facilities Program Coordinator Brittany LaChausse

Brittany joined the BluePath staff in August 2022 and manages the Paws to Learn Program, in which BluePath dogs provide therapeutic support in schools, camps, residential homes, and day-habilitation settings.

Brittany describes her role as a perfect fit, bringing together her degree in psychology, background in human services, and lifelong love of dogs. She really enjoys how human canine bonds evolve over time, particularly when an individual is initially timid but ultimately develops a strong and meaningful connection.

“I love seeing how our dogs can change a person’s demeanor,” Brittany shares. “It’s amazing to watch an individual’s face light up as he or she engages with a dog.”

In addition to her role on staff, Brittany volunteers as a foster, providing a safe and loving home environment for future autism service dogs. Her first charge was black Labrador retriever George, who’s now a working service dog in Brooklyn, NY. She was excited and proud to see him graduate with his family in March.
